Exploring My Bookshelves | Parody

Exploring My Bookshelves is a weekly meme created by Addlepates and Book Nerds and For the Love of Words.

A parody or funny book (In honor of April Fool’s day)

Happy April Fool’s y’all! Today I want to share with you one of my favorite parodies ever. I usually prefer funny videos to books, but this one made me laugh every single time when I read it years ago: it’s the illustrated version of Bored of the Rings, the parody of The Lord of the Rings movies.

I must confess that I never read the entire book, but only the four pages they translated in italian (still very hilarious) for a special book they made about the movies BTS. I had no idea there was an entire book with that stuff at that time, also, my english wasn’t very good so I wouldn’t probably fully understand it. This is something I should definitely read sooner or later!

And now a little note about my messy shelf. I usually don’t like to share photos of my bookshelf, because it’s a complete mess, even if I’m a very organized person. That’s because I don’t live on my own, my bedroom is small and I only have a small Ikea Billy (plus an additional small bookshelf for my childhood books in the hallway) for all my books, University ones included, while I’d actually need 3 Billy-s. This is something that annoys me since I was a teenager, not because of bookstagram and the blog, but because of my love for books, organization and pretty shelves!

I’m happy I stumbled upon this weekly meme, because it will let me be more honest with you, sharing the mess without being ashamed.

What is your favorite parody/funny book? I definitely need some recommendations for this genre.
