Top 5 Halloween Traditions

Halloween is my favorite holiday after Christmas and it’s hilarious since it doesn’t actually exist in our traditions history here in Italy. Thankfully there is globalization and I’ve been educated to carve pumpkins and receive oranges (true story) after screaming trick or treats at some doors in my village. The best part is that my birthday is only four days before Halloween and some years (like the last one) I’m lucky enough to celebrate the two things during the same night!

As I said, Halloween isn’t an italian thing, and my parents never celebrated it, I always been the only overexcited member of the family, so I had to build traditions on my own.

1. Watch Hocus Pocus
This film is a masterpiece and I had a huge crush for Max Dennison when I was a child, I also fought with my friends to play the role of Sarah Sanderson, because she was the cool witch!

2. Carve a pumpkin
My mom helped me to do it when I was a child, but she never enjoyed it, so I always do it on my own, trying to keep my cat away, since she LOVES eating raw pumpkins -.-

3. Try the weirdest makeup + hairdo and snap a shameless selfie
Here and here, no explanation needed.

4. Display my Halloween candles
I’m growing a collection of Halloween candles and candle burners because they are so cute and I love display them around.

5. Dress up my LOTRO characters
The Lord of the Rings Online runs an amazing festival during the last two weeks of October and there is also a Haunted Burrow to explore. I LOVE it! It’s also a way to meet other players in-game, so I like to dress up my character. Last year, my hobbit looked like a pumpkin.

Do you have any Halloween tradition?
